Reconciliation of identities

What is identity reconciliation?

Identity reconciliation, also known as identity matching, is the process of consistently aligning, synchronizing and managing the credentials and attributes associated with an entity or user across different systems or applications within an organization.

identity reconciliation is the process used to associate existing accounts with existing users. Typically, reconciliation is initiated just after users and accounts have been imported into theIAM tool, in order to obtain a map of authorizations.

Reconciliation can be manual, associating accounts one by one with the users who use them. It can also be automatic by associating the right accounts with the right users based on criteria such as e-mail address, first and last name, etc.

Once the initial reconciliation is done, it is important to keep the associations up to date by doing this reconciliation very regularly for orphan accounts that appear regularly.
