A user repository is a centralized database or storage system containing information about an organization's users. It is a place where user credentials and attributes are stored and managed centrally.
A user repository lists all the users of an entity. These include employees, of course, but also freelancers, temporary staff and all categories of users not usually managed by the HR department.
This user repository is a prerequisite for managing authorizations, as it enables arbitration on the legitimacy of an account based on a user's administrative and functional characteristics.
For example, a user's status (gone, present, not yet arrived...) determines whether his or her accounts should be active or suspended.
