Frequently Asked Questions

What are the prerequisites for obtaining my ICS?

To obtain a score, you need to connect at least one of your applications to Youzer to see the information collected and the score calculated.
Ideally, you should connect your account directory, such as Active Directory, and your HRIS or HR file.

What does a bad score mean?

A low score means that the rate of orphaned accounts (not attached to any user) is very high. This rate is calculated based on the total number of accounts present.
The rate of erroneous accounts (attached to a departed user) is also high, and this rate is calculated based on the number of users present.

A low score is a sign of weakness in your company's identity and access management. This can have serious consequences, such as providing an entry point for a cyberattack.

What corrective actions should be implemented to improve my cyber identity score?

Without an IAM tool, it will be difficult for you to master the cleanup of your accounts in the long term.

The steps are:

  • Having a unique user repository (people present in your company, all contracts included)

  • Having a list of all accounts present in an application

  • reconcile the repository and the list of accounts for each application to highlight anomalies

With an IAM solution like Youzer, you just have to connect your AD or similar, your HRIS or HR file to get an immediate and clear detail of the status of your accounts and any anomalies.

You can then suspend all the accounts of departed users. Youzer has an algorithm that generates association suggestions between users and orphaned accounts.

Does a good ICS protect me from cyberattacks?

A good ICS proves that you have excellent management of your user accounts and that you do not have security flaws in the management of unattached or suspended accounts.
Managing erroneous accounts is a task to be carried out throughout the year.

This does not mean that you are immune to all cyberattacks, but it does mean that you are not leaving an entry point through unmaintained accounts.

However, be aware that even a single untreated erroneous account can be the source of a cyberattack. Be vigilant.
